Current mood: cranky

May lightening strike (ohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseohplease)
Two point five accidents this morning on the way into work; I say two point five because there was much tire squealing and smoke about half way. One occurred after the last exit for five miles – that usual place with the slight curve in the freeway. It must be too much for people. Luckily, I never spent timed stopped, so I could coast along at five miles an hour, listening to my music. It kept me from stabbing people.

The second, however, held up apposing lanes of traffic. So sorry for you guys, but again, still grateful I didn’t have to stop. There’s just something about getting on a freeway with no traffic lights or shops that makes me want to go – oh, yeah, because they were designed just for that: go.

Now, I’m going to write a bunch of stuff you probably won’t understand. Don’t worry, it’s not that you’re not smart or beautiful. It’s because its work related and full of geek speak. I need to get it off my chest and that, my dear friends, is what LiveJournal is for.

How does one report harassment at work? I understand, Mr. Business Applications, you made some boastful promise about implementing new document control for engineering software. And I can certainly see the appeal of hiring a contractor with the necessary experience to put the software together for you. It’s smart to pay for knowledge we don’t possess. But honestly, hiring someone who isn’t physically near any company site or give this hired contractor access to company specs (such as computer images, other software packages this might impact, etc.) was about the stupidest thing you could’ve done.

Oh, no, wait, you said this could be done a week. No testing at the sites – just roll it on out along with an upgrade to the server (so any applications installed will need to be updated AGAIN after the server update). UGH! Hello, I’m the only IT person at this site. BESIDES trying to test this for you in the crappy two days you left to me, I’m installing my first ever FlexM License on a new server that I set up, upgrading the last of the problem children to XP (despite their feet dragging) and handling every other issue that wanders into my cube with a sad little face!

I don’t do politics well. Hell, I’d rather not do them at all. Fuck Rudolph and his damn reindeer games – it’s nothing but a bunch of wannabes too afraid to find their own identities that opt to sell their souls to a bigoted fat man in a jolly red suit! Not this little antler filly. I’m a contractor, damn it. You don’t pay me enough to care. You give me enough cash for my time and expertise. That’s it.

And to top this all off, because the raging case of depression over the anniversary isn’t enough, the server I was contracted to install for Client #1 can now be used as a boat anchor. Seriously. The lovely IT guy I found to support the server (because, hey, I know my limitations. Hubby reminded me last night that I didn’t want this thing installed and I knew I wouldn’t be able to support it if it was installed), Sam I Am, ran diagnostics on it to determine that the first RAID driver failure occurred back in August. Since then, it’s slowly been failing, part to part. Right now, the motherboard, video board, both memory banks, both sets of memory and both raid drives are dead.

Not like soap opera dead, where they might come back for sweeps week. Dead dead.

It’s barely over six months old. So, I’m currently in an email war with the jerk dipshit mother fucking asshole that supplied these lovely parts. It’s nothing but me begging for warranty information and him grunting back "Unk, give me server. Me will see what me will do." And I actually typed more words in that mocking quote than he sent me in an email.

I have never wanted to perform such violence on another human being more in my life.

And all this lovely stress has triggered my Hidradenitis Suppurativa. Yes, a lot of pain in a tender area of my body is just what I need to complete this lovely Renaissance painted picture of Hell. I am so tired, so frustrated and so – just so. Add your own fucked-in-the-ass-without-lube word here.

Can I vote to get a new life?

I love that. That makes it better.

And he's in Texas. Houston. And the other one's in San Jose. California.

Don't worry. The Canadians like me. :-)

I love telling the "Did the waitress just tell us to burp?" story.

And I forgot about Santa! He lives in Virgina!

What a completely fucked up weekend that was.

Wish I could do something to make it all go away. Better yet drag those dickshits (mr.harassment & mr.faultypartsupplier) in to a level of hell that would make them whine like the fucktards they are.

PMS, the equal opportunity ranter.

lol

Luv you. Coffee again in a couple of weeks. I'll have Con stories (we hope)
